Another one hour speed painting. This one was done a bit differently. Yes, the composition is crappy but it was done quickly. Instead of drawing it from a photo (as a study onry of course) this was inspired from a gnomon video I was studying. There are some incredible speed paintings done towards the end and there is one of an incredible ocean scene. Anyways, I used that as a color guide and a spring board. It really doesn't look like it but I feel I should give credit where credit is due.
I think if I tweaked the composition, fleshed out the character and buildings and researched the materials and colors this could actually make a decent and fun painting.
Awesome idea, well drawn, and well colored. I really like this. And I believe you're right about changing the composition. I think that if you tweaked it so something is there to bring my eye back to the man on the cliff top, then this picture would work the way you probably intended it to.
Yeah, it was really rushed. Since I limit myself to one hour I just go at it, without any preparation or anything. Still, surprisingly, I enjoyed the results. I may someday do a proper painting of it, or flesh out the idea.

Me either! I am new to the scenary thing myself. I am trying to force myself into it since most of my stuff is character design/monster/animal stuff. It's a lot of fun. My next challenge, after urban areas and scenary is going to be vehicles *shudder*.
